Philanthropist and Entrepreneur, Dr. C. Nelson Oniyama, in continuation of his endeavors to improve livelihoods, has established the Global Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing & Laboratories Limited. The company is Liberia’s first good manufacturing practice (GMP) certified pharma plant which manufactures tablets, capsules, and suspensions. The factory, licensed by the Liberia Medicine & Health Regulatory Authority, will employ up to 2,000 Liberian professionals and roll out its “Made in Liberia” medications. The company will positively impact the Liberian economy in general and the wellbeing and empowerment of ordinary citizens in particular. It will manufacture lifesaving drugs in a country which has a severely challenged healthcare sector. It will also be a conduit through which Liberian professionals can be empowered to make more significant contributions to the country. This venture comes on the back of the opening of health centers in previous years.
Dr. Oniyama is a Vice President for the Liberia Chamber of Commerce and an avid businessman who is keen on giving back to society and empowering people.
He has been hailed by multiple media and private institutions, and individuals, for his numerous contributions to the Liberian society.
